MAGPIE artsong creates intimate and immersive experiences showcasing the power of artsong to evoke emotions, spark imagination, and inspire creativity and openness.

Led by co-artistic directors Kyle Stegall and Penelope Cashman, the recital series presents top singers and pianists in unique spaces, creating connection with their audiences through the diverse soundscapes of classical artsong.

Experience the intimacy and raw beauty of a song recital – singer and pianist, words and music. Historically a centrepiece of cultural evenings and creative gatherings, the song recital is a beloved genre for composers, artists, and audiences alike.

Whether you’re an regular concert goer or you’re trying something new, we invite you to come as you are and enjoy a drink while you listen to music and poetry spanning continents and centuries. Each recital typically features 60 minutes of music with one interval.
